UPON VISUAL INSPECTION DIDN'T FIND ANY DAMAGE OR ABNORMAL WEAR IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT BUT FOUND TRANSMISSION FLUID BLACK, ENGINE OIL WAS DARK IN COLOR AND COOLANT LEVEL WAS SLIGHTLY LOW BUT STILL HAD COOLANT IN RESERVOIR(TOPPED OFF COOLANT). STARTED WITH AN OIL CHANGE AND REPLACING FRONT BRAKES(GONE METAL TO METAL). AFTER REPAIRS CLEARED CODES AND TEST DROVE AGAIN (10 MILES), ENGINE SOUNDS STRONG AND HEALTHY, TRANSMISSION STILL HAS HIGH SHIFTING POINTS BUT NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS RETURNED. RECOMMEND PERFORMING TRANSMISSION SERVICE AND RETEST DRIVE. AFTER TRANSMISSION SERVICE, DROVE VEHICLE 20 MILES. SHIFTING POINTS HAD RETURNED TO NORMAL AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS NOT COME BACK ON. VEHICLE IS RUNNING FINE NOW, DUE TO THE FACT CUSTOMER HAD DRIVEN VEHICLE ON FREEWAY IN FIRST GEAR FOR SOME TIME THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN UNDER EXTREME SITUATION THAT HAD CAUSED A SLIGHT OVER HEATING CONDITION. DOES NOT APPEAR TO HAVE CAUSED ANY PERMANENT DAMAGE JUST WORE FLUIDS DOWN QUICKER THAN UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS.

  • CHECK AND ADJUST TIRE PRESSURE TO RECOMMENDED SPECIFICATIONS ON TIRE.
  • -REMOVED DOOR PANEL TO GAIN ACCESS TO SCREWS TO REMOVE THE MASTER WINDOW SWITCH AND BEZEL. -FOUND ONE OF THE TABS THAT HOLDS THE MASTER SWITCH INTO THE BEZEL TO BE BROKEN. -EPOXIED THE TAB BACK INTO PLACE AND REASSEMBLED EVERYTHING. IT SEEMS TO BE HOLDING IN PLACE OK. IF IT BREAKS AGAIN, RECOMMEND REPLACING THE MASTER WINDOW SWITCH BEZEL.
  • TEST DRIVE AND ADVISE -SCANNED FOR CODES, NONE ARE STORED IN THE PCM. -STARTED AND RAN VEHICLE. HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE STALLING ISSUE BUT THERE IS A LOW OIL PRESSURE INDICATOR ON THE DASH AT IDLE AND THE ENGINE STARTS TO MAKE A TICKING NOISE. -OVER FILLED THE OIL BY 2 QTS AND JACKED THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE UP AS HIGH AS POSSIBLE TO GET ALL OF THE OIL TO THE FRONT OF THE ENGINE (WHERE THE OIL PICKUP TUBE O-RING IS) AND THE OIL PRESSURE STAYED NORMAL. *ITS POSSIBLE THAT THE ENGINE SHUT ITSELF DOWN AS A SAFETY MEASURE DUE TO SEEING NO OIL PRESSURE. RECOMMEND REPLACING THE OIL PICKUP TUBE O-RING AND DRIVING VEHICLE TO SEE IF THE CONCERN RETURNS. (DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING THE VEHICLE WITH THE CURRENT OIL PRESSURE ISSUE)
