    • -WAS ABLE TO GET VEHICLE STARTED FOR A FEW SECONDS AND THEN IT DIED AGAIN. -TRIED STARTING VEHICLE AGAIN AND IT WOULD NOT START. -SCANNED FOR CODES P1604 STARTABILITY FAULT -CHECKED FOR SPARK (PRESENT) -CHECKED FOR INJECTOR PULSE (PRESENT) -CHECKED FUEL PRESSURE. THERE IS NO PRESSURE SHOWING ON THE GAUGE. -CHECKED FUEL PUMP FUSE (OK) -CHECKED FUEL PUMP RELAY (OK) -COMMANDED THE FUEL PUMP ON WITH THE SCANNER AND THERE IS STILL NO PRESSURE. -DISCONNECTED THE FUEL FEED LINE AND THE FUEL RETURN LINE. -THE FEED LINE HAD FUEL IN IT 9 BUT THE RETURN DIDN'T. -WITH THE FUEL FEED LINE DISCONNECTED, COMMANDED THE FUEL PUMP ON TO SEE IF THERE WAS FUEL FROM THE PUMP. THERE WAS A VERY SMALL AMOUNT OF FUEL PUMPING OUT OF THE LINE BUT IT WAS WITH NO PRESSURE AT ALL. -THE FUEL GAUGE IS READING ABOVE EMPTY. *DUE TO THE FUEL PUMP NOT PUMPING ENOUGH FUEL, RECOMMEND REPLACEMENT OF THE FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY AND RETEST.

    • -TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE. IT FEELS EXTREMELY UNDERPOWERED AND THE TRANSMISSION IS SLAMMING INTO FIRST GEAR UPON DECELERATION. -ALMOST EVERY LIGHT IS ILLUMINATED ON THE DASH -CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON, ABS LIGHT ON, CHECK VSC MESSAGE, TRAC OFF LIGHT ON, BRAKE WEAR MESSAGE, MAINTENANCE REQUIRED LIGHT ON, CHECK PMS SYSTEM MESSAGE AFS OFF LIGHT FLASHING. -SCANNED FOR CODES PCM: P0328 KNOCK SENSOR 1 CIRCUIT HIGH INPUT (BANK 1) ABS/VSC/TRC: C0200 RIGHT FRONT SPEED SENSOR CIRCUIT C1201 ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM C1223 ABS CONTROL SYSTEM FAULT -CLEARED ALL CODES AND THEY RETURNED IMMEDIATELY. -INSPECTED ALL VISUAL WIRING FOR THE KNOCK SENSORS AND NO DAMAGE IS SEEN. -THE MAJORITY OF THE KNOCK SENSOR WIRING AND THE KNOCK SENSORS THEMSELVES ARE IN THE VALLEY OF THE MOTOR UNDER THE INTAKE MANIFOLD (CAN NOT BE SEEN OR TESTED WITH THE INTAKE MANIFOLD INSTALLED) *HAVE TO START WITH REMOVAL OF THE INTAKE MANIFOLD TO CONTINUE TESTING FOR THE KNOCK SENSOR CODES. **THE KNOCK SENSORS JOB IS TO DETECT DETONATION IN THE ENGINE, AND WHEN IT DOES, IS PULLS IGNITION TIMING WHICH CAN LEAD TO POOR ACCELERATION AND MAY CAUSE ERRATIC TRANSMISSION FUNCTION. WOULD HAVE TO CORRECT THE KNOCK SENSOR AND WHEEL SPEED SENSOR ISSUES FIRST AND RETEST FOR PROPER TRANSMISSION FUNCTION. -VISUALLY INSPECTED THE VISIBLE WIRING FOR THE RIGHT FRONT WHEEL SPEED SENSOR. NO DAMAGE IS SEEN. -TESTED THE RESISTANCE ACROSS THE WHEEL SPEED SENSOR AND IT WAS 1,187 OHMS (EXTREMELY HIGH) *RECOMMEND REPLACEMENT OF THE PASSENGER FRONT WHEEL SPEED SENSOR, CLEAR CODES AND RETEST. -FOR THE TPMS LIGHT, I BELIEVE THE SYSTEM IS A PASSIVE SYSTEM THAT WORKS OFF WHEEL SPEED. SO IF THERE IS A DEAD WHEEL SPEED SENSOR, THE SYSTEM IS NOT GOING TO WORK. -FOR THE BRAKE WEAR LIGHT, INSPECTED BOTH BRAKE WEAR SENSORS AND THEY WERE REUSED DURING THE LAST BRAKE JOB. BOTH THE FRONT AND REAR SENSOR ARE GROUND DOWN TO THE WIRE IN THE SENSOR, *RECOMMEND REPLACING THE FRONT AND REAR BRAKE PAD SENSORS AND RETEST.
    • INTAKE MANIFOLD – Remove & Replace
    • -FOUND ADDITIONAL DAMAGED WIRING BY THE BATTERY THAT HAD TO DEAL WIT SPEED SENSOR AND BRAKE PAD SENSORS AND THE ALARM (I BELIEVE). -REPAIRED WIRES AND TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE. -THE ONLY LIGHT REMAINING ON THE DASH IS THE MAINTENANCE REQUIRED LIGHT (DUE FOR AN OIL CHANGE) -THE VEHICLE FEELS LIKE IT HAS FULL ACCELERATION RETURNED BUT THERE IS STILL A HARSH DOWNSHIFT FROM 2-1 WHEN COMING TO A STOP. -RESET THE TRANSMISSION ADAPTATIONS AND RETESTED, IT IS SLIGHTLY BETTER BUT IT STILL HAS THE HARSH DOWNSHIFT (ALL OTHER SHIFTS FEEL TOTALLY NORMAL AND SMOOTH) -CHECKED TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL (OK). THERE WAS A BROKEN TOOL IN THE CHECK PLUG THAT HAD TO BE EXTRACTED. -THE FLUID CONDITION IS VERY DARK AND HAS A BURNT SMELL (NOT COMPLETELY UNEXPECTED FOR A TRANSMISSION WITH 250,000+ MILES ON IT). -CHECKED THROTTLE POSITION VOLTAGE TO VERIFY THAT THE THROTTLE BODY IS CLOSING COMPLETELY DURING DECELERATION AND IT IS. *SINCE THERE ARE NO CODES PRESENT AND NOTHING THAT IS STANDING OUT AS THE CULPRIT OF THE PROBLEM, IT ISN'T POSSIBLE TO ACCURATELY DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF THE HARSH DOWNSHIFT. **IT IS COMMON FOR AN INTERNAL PCM PROBLEM TO CAUSE THE SAME ISSUE BUT CAN NOT BE CERTAIN THAT IT WOULD FIX THE PROBLEM. THERE IS ALSO THE POSSIBILITY OF AN INTERNAL TRANSMISSION PROBLEM CAUSING IT BUT UNLESS IT GETS WORSE TO THE POINT THAT IT CAN GIVE CLUES TO WHICH IT IS, I CAN NOT SAY FOR CERTAIN IF ONE OR THE OTHER WOULD FIX THE PROBLEM.
